A disaster preparedness workshop for homeowners presented will be presented by the California Fire Safe Council, Farmers Insurance Group and Nevada Fire Safe Council from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. today at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa, 55 Highway 50, Stateline.
The event will include a presentation by Ed Smith, a natural resource specialist with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, titled “Prevention Wildfire Disasters by Adapting Your Community.”
A multi-hazard expert panel will be held from 10:30–11:30 a.m. on preparedness, survival and recovery. A local solutions panel will include El Dorado County Emergency Services, South Lake Tahoe Emergency Management Community Council, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, the El Dorado Fire Safe Council and the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada.
A free buffet lunch will be provided.
