Young Incline Village dirt track racer Mikey Lampe carried the momentum of his 2010 season into a successful 2011 campaign and#8212; as did his father, Tim.
Mikey, 10, continued his domination on the West Coast. He won the track championship at Fast Fridays in Auburn by winning the series and netting top honors as Track Champion.
Additionally, he was recently bumped up to Amateur status by District 36 of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA).
and#8220;This puts Mikey in a much more competitive field of riders,and#8221; said Tim, his proud dad.
The promotion in racing status did not slow down the speedster one bit. In his debut race as an Amateur Junior District-36 racer last week, Mikey won all three classes he entered.
and#8220;This was an amazing tri-fecta win for Mikey. He is smooth and very fast on two wheels,and#8221; said Randy Krumple, District-36 Track Stewart.
The 2012 season starts in April with a whole new series and venues on the West Coast.
