Incline snowboarder Natalie Vitalie wins gold at USASA Championships

Natalie Vitalie of Incline Village beat out 12 of the nation’s snowboarding elite to win the gold medal in slopestyle and conquered 30 of the best jibbers in the rail jam event at the United States of America Snowboarding Association (USASA) Championships in Colorado last week.

The USASA national event is an invite-only competition for today’s top skiers and boarders and was held at Copper Mountain Resort.

Vitalie, 20, lives in Incline Village while spending all of her “in-season” days on the South Shore at her sponsor resort, Heavenly. She has logged 104 days in the 2011/2012 season alone. In addition to her latest snowboarding feats, she attends Lake Tahoe Community College as a sophomore and studies graphic design with a 3.5 GPA.
