OBITUARY: Clyde Andrew Perlenfein

Clyde Andrew Perlenfein, 77 formerly of South Lake Tahoe, California, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Solon Iowa Care Center, after a short but brave battle with cancer. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Lisbon Iowa United Methodist Church by Reverend Thomas Mattson followed by a Masonic service. Private burial at Happy Homestead Cemetery, South Tahoe, California to follow later. Arragements by Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Survivors include three daughters: Karen (Mark) Eifler, Portland, Oregon, Kristi (Craig) Debevoise, Austin, Texas, and Katy (Tim) Munroe, Concord, California; six grandchildren, Connor J. Eifler, Andrew, Nicole, Brooke Debevoise, and Kaitlyn and Savanna Munroe; a sister Ramona (Rev. Russ) McClatchey, Hedgesville, West Virginia; two step daughters, Kim (Bob) Zimmerman, Anamosa, Iowa, Karry (Larry) Hauser, Lake View, Iowa, and a step-son, Kenneth (Maribel) Moser, Lithia, Florida and three step-grandchildren.

Clyde was born October 22, 1934 in Ringgold, Iowa, the son of Christian and Viola Marrs Perlenfein. He graduated from Walker High School in 1953 and Cornell College, Mount Vernon, Iowa, in 1957.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James. He married Marilyn Quinn, November 28, 1959. She passed away April 8, 2001. He married Beverly Raddatz Moser on May 16, 2004. She died August 8, 2011.

Clyde was a 50-year member of the Capital Masonic Lodge #110, Des Moines, Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge #112, Cedar Rapids Scottish Rite Consistory, Cedar Rapids Elks Lodge #251 and the South Lake Tahoe Elks.

Clyde was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, fishing, bowling and especially traveling.
