INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; Washoe County is alerting Incline Village/Crystal Bay residents that officials will soon begin removing sandwich board signs placed illegally within the community.

According to a warning card mailed out recently from the countyand#8217;s community services department, officials have observed and have and#8220;received numerous complaintsand#8221; that several Incline Village/Crystal Bay property owners, businesses and/or tentants have been placing signs and#8212; many of them and#8220;sandwich board signsand#8221; and#8212; within the public street or sidewalk right-of-way in front of businesses.

According to Washoe County Code (Section 110.504.70), placing signs on the public right of way or on public property is illegal, and they can be removed without advance warning. Removed signs must be kept for 30 days, according to the county, and they will be returned to the owner and#8220;upon payment of the cost incurred in the removal.and#8221;

County staff will begin removing illegally placed signs without warning after this Friday, according to the county. Confiscated signs will be stored at the local public works yard off the Mt. Rose Highway; locals can contact county Code Enforcement Officer Bert Bracy at 775-328-6191 to make an appointment to retrieve them. Signs will be destroyed after 30 days.
