TRUCKEE, Calif. - In the spirit of community, the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association will host its monthly "First Friday" event on Friday, Oct. 5, 5-8 p.m. in downtown Truckee. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this free community event.This month's theme is "Taste of Truckee," and several participating businesses will offer patrons a chance to enjoy the flavors of the season with unique food samples. These merchants will also pass out original recipe cards for patrons to collect from store to store and take home to make delicious seasonal treats anytime. Some businesses will also offer live music, refreshments, featured products, artwork and special sales. In addition, Riverside Studios will be hosting its monthly new artist reception, to welcome artist Mike Bond's work, and Dragonfly Restaurant and Sushi Bar will host its monthly three-course lobster dinner (advanced reservations required). Confirmed participating merchants for this month include: Backstreet Boutique; Bespoke; Best Pies Pizza; Bluestone Jewelry; The Cooking Gallery; Dragonfly; Gratitudes Gifts and Home Dcor; La Galleria; Lorien Powers Studio; Mo, Jo & Zoe; Mountain Home; The Treehouse; Riverside Studios; and White Buffalo.All participating merchants will display "First Friday" flags. Celebrate the Truckee community and the flavors of the fall season this Friday with a nibble, a sip or a special treat, and a recipe to recreate anytime.Free parking will be available downtown after 5 p.m. Truckee Downtown Merchants Association's First Friday festivities take place throughout the year in downtown Truckee on the first Friday of each month.
