Incline hospital showcases recent renovation, improvements

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - Incline Village Community Hospital, a service of Tahoe Forest Health System since 1996, recently held a community mixer to celebrate and showcase the completion of construction at the east end of the hospital.

Many North Lake Tahoe businesses and individuals attended to tour and learn about the improvements. The event was held on Thursday, Sept. 20.

The remodel and modernization project began in May 2012, and is slated for completion at the end of this year.

The remodel project included installation of a new 16-slice CT scanner, an upgraded diagnostic imaging suite, new entry doors, and an enlarged Auxiliary gift shop. The hospital also completed other upgrades improvements on the first floor in the public areas to match the 24-hour Emergency Department remodel that was completed in 2008.

Judy Newland, administrator of Incline Village Community Hospital, thanked the community for their valued financial support of the "Be A Hero" campaign that made the renovation and improvement projects possible.

"Because of the support of this community, our hospital Foundation Board of Directors, and Tahoe Forest Health System, our hospital is better able to offer life-saving services for our community needs," she said. "We are proud of the strong local support for these vital improvements, and look forward to our final completion by year-end."

Incline Village Community Hospital is offering tours to the community to see the improvements and learn about the "Be A Hero" program, which has nearly raised the $1 million to reach the project goal, with $165,000 still needed to support the final work.
