Truckee at North Tahoe volleyball | Wolverines win on road

The Truckee volleyball team defeated North Tahoe in straight sets on the road Friday, 25-9, 25-14, 25-18.

Mel Jones was Player of the Match for the Wolverines, as the senior outside hitter tallied nine kills, 10 service points and two service aces.

Junior teammate Mackenzie Redner recorded eight kills in the match, while Gabby Moretti had six kills and 16 assists, Chelsea Mohun had 11 digs and 15 assists, and Kestlie Stefanelli had 10 service points and four aces.

For the Lakers, freshman Jordan Briggs finished with a team-high three kills, seven service points and four aces. Lauren Willson had two kills and two digs, Taylor Briggs had two kills, two service aces and five digs, Bailee Goodwin had five service points, and Tilley Gibeaut had three assists.

Truckee improved to 13-9 overall and 3-0 in Mount Rose League play. North Tahoe - a young team made up of three freshmen, a sophomore, two juniors and two seniors - is 0-15 on the year.

UP NEXT: North Tahoe is scheduled to host Sparks on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and play at South Tahoe on Friday, while Truckee plays at Incline on Tuesday and hosts Incline on Friday, both at 6 p.m.
