As long-term residents of Tahoe Vista we strongly support John Bergmann, Phil Thompson, and Tim Ferrell in the upcoming NTPUD Board of Directors election.
We have known John since his arrival here 35 years ago.
He was a contributor to community efforts prior to replacing Larry Sevison on the Board and has continued to be an incredibly active and supportive member of our community in that capacity. His reelection is critical to the continuation of numerous successful PUD and Parks/Recreation endeavors.
Phil has been around longer than some of the rocks in the Agate Bay quarry. His understanding of our water and sewer infrastructure design will be extremely valuable as the system renewal continues.
He is also familiar with PUD financial matters and will be a very capable replacement for Frank Mooney, the retiring director.
The final candidate we support is Tim Ferrell. Court, as a Mechanical Engineer graduate from Cal Berkeley, is definitely biased regarding Tim's continued presence on the Board.
We firmly believe that all boards created under the auspices of California's "Division 7, Public Utility District Act" should have an engineer, and preferably a Civil Engineer, on the Board. Tim must be reelected to maintain that presence in the decision-making processes.
We further support the above-listed candidates because all are independent thinkers, come from diverse educational and business backgrounds, and are adept at expressing their personal opinions rather than the potential singular opinion of a "bloc."
We appreciate those characteristics because we believe they are tantamount to well-founded decisions.
And finally, because all three candidates have businesses in our district the future of our community's infrastructure and growth is every bit as important to them as it is to us, the voting community.
