INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - OK now we have had our first snow event and everyone knows about chains and winter driving so bring on the rest of the winter!
It definitely ended golf season but remember you can still get your season pass to Diamond Peak on sale until the end of Oct. Plan now to enjoy your lunch breaks out on the mountain.
Tonight is the annual Trail of Treats and Terror so please drive carefully as children will be out in costumes. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and is at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center, the IVGID Recreation Center, Lake Tahoe School and Sierra Nevada College.
Because Friday is Nevada Day, many local offices, including IVGID and the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation will be closed.
The annual parade is on Saturday down in Carson City, and the theme is Honoring our Military.
For adults looking for Halloween fun, the annual Creeper's Ball with Tainted Love at the Crystal Bay Club is Saturday. Not sure if any tickets are still available but it is a great party.
If you want to learn more about Tahoe's weather and its history the Rotary Club of Incline Village will feature local weather guru Mark McLaughlin at its noon meeting on Monday, Oct. 29. For information call Judy Spees at 775-832-7006.
Now that snow is covering the ground and outdoor activities are not so much fun, head into the Rec. Center. They have great staff to help you with exercise or group events. Check it out online at inclinerecreation.com or stop over and see all that is happening. I know they always offer winter conditioning classes so hurry in for that one.
