INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - It's My Community Store, a Sparks-based office supply company that gives up to 10 percent of every order to a charity of the customer's choosing, is expanding to North Lake Tahoe.
"By adding the Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation to our list of nonprofits, it gives Tahoe locals a chance to give back to a charity in their own backyard," said Jenifer Rose, CEO of It's My Community Store. "We are always looking for a chance to add more nonprofits and charities to our company, our goal is to make it as easy as possible for businesses to help charities and non-profits grow in their own community."
It's My Community store allows businesses to order the office supplies that they already buy (toner, pens, folders, etc.) but at the same time they can give back to their community.
Crystal Bay Casino, one of It's My Community Store's largest Tahoe businesses, chooses to have its 10 percent sent to Kids and Horses, a Minden-based organization.
"You shouldn't wait for someone else to come and help the people and organizations in your hometown thrive. You have the power to make decisions every day that will be beneficial to others in your area," said Rose. "Make a conscious effort to support the things and places that support your community, and to actively educate others about doing the same. It's amazing the power people can have when they pull together.
Established in 2011, It's My Community Store continuously adds nonprofits and charities as well as businesses dedicated to helping the community. Learn more at www.itsmycommunitystore.com.
