Adopt a senior this holiday season in Incline

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - During the 2012 holiday season, IVGID Senior Programs will once again facilitate the Holiday Giving Adopt-A-Senior Program. This program, dedicated to reaching seniors in the community who are homebound, alone for the holidays or in financial need, will provide each senior with one wish list item and a holiday meal.

Referrals for senior recipients will be collected through IVGID Senior Programs by calling 775-832-1310. All referral information is strictly confidential. Referral Deadline: Monday, Dec. 5. You can also drop referral forms into a HGP Senior Referral Box at one of the following locations:

• The Recreation Counter at the Incline Village Recreation Center, 980 Incline Way.

• The D.W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center, 948 Incline Way.

• LifePoint Church Ministry Center, 917 Tahoe Blvd., Ste. 100 A.

Residents interested in donating can choose to adopt a senior, provide a holiday meal or volunteer for the delivery of gifts. Become an Adopter by selecting an Angel (wish list item) and/or Gingerbread Man (holiday meal) ornament from IVGID's Adopt-A-Senior Tree. Deadline for gift delivery: Monday, Dec. 12.

If you are unable to shop for a senior, but would like to make a difference, you can make a financial donation to the Adopt-A-Senior Program, and IVGID will shop for you. Checks can be made payable to "Incline Village General Improvement District" with Adopt-A-Senior in the memo line.
