Incline freshmen girls Amanda Pretti and Annika Hansen and sophomore boy Ian Reeves led the Highlanders with top-10 finishes in a Tahoe Basin League race at Homewood on Monday.
Conditions were ideal for racing, with a fast giant slalom course due to clear skies and a firm base, which tested even the most experienced skiers in the competitive league.
Pretti posted the top result for the Highlanders, as she finished third behind South Tahoe's Maia Bickert and North Tahoe's Jessica Tidd with a two-run combined time of 61.93 seconds. Bickert took the win in 60.52 while Tidd finished in 61.57.
Hansen wasn't far behind. She placed eighth in a time of 65.22, while teammate Hannah Laurie was 19th in 72.97.
"Both Amanda and Annika bring a lot of racing experience into their first season skiing in the Tahoe Basin League," said Incline coach Joe Humasti. "The Tahoe Ski Basin has a lot of strong competition this year in both the boys and girls division. Any boy or girl in the top 10 could win a race."
Despite having only three of the four racers that make up a team score, the Incline girls finished fifth with 140 points. North Tahoe's girls took the team win with 196 points. The Truckee girls were second with 193 points and were followed by South Tahoe (191) and Whittell (146). The Douglas girls (132) were sixth and Carson (47) seventh.
In the boys race, Reeves represented Incline well with a seventh-place finish in 63.41. Garrett Driller of North Tahoe won in 58.97 and was followed by Truckee's Addison Dvoracek in 59.89 and Scotty Lebel in 60.59.
Incline senior Kyle Reeves finished 24th in 72.33 and Daniel Lusch was 30th in 79.56.
With only three scores, the Incline boys finished sixth with 250 points. Truckee's boys were first with 211 points, followed by South Tahoe (186), North Tahoe (178), Douglas (166) and Whittell (149). The Carson boys had 91 points.
Truckee claimed the combined victory (boys and girls) with a total score of 404 points. South Tahoe was second with 377, North Tahoe third with 374, Douglas fourth with 298, Whittell fifth with 295, Incline sixth with 250 and Carson seventh with 138. North Tahoe hosted the race.
