The Incline Middle School sixth/seventh-grade volleyball team swept through the South Tahoe Optimist Tournament in dominant fashion this past weekend, winning all six matches en route to the championship.
The team defeated South Tahoe Middle School in the championship match.
"We have an outstanding team this year," said Incline team captain Haeden Suter. "All the girls put in tons of time and effort. This victory was particularly rewarding because the schools we played were much larger and we've never won first place before.
"Our next goal is to become the league champions."
The eighth-grade team also fared well at the tournament, placing third.
The Incline Middle School and Lake Tahoe School volleyball teams will square off for the final time this season at the rec center on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m.
