TRUCKEE, Calif. - Alexis Turner Kelly (AKA Alex Kelly Art) is hosting a hART show at the Coffeebar in Truckee on Friday, March 1, 8:30-10 p.m.
"Black, White and Raw" (21+, $10 cover) promises an eclectic mix of artistry including music, fine art, live art and "wineart." Supporting the evening with their own creative blend will be The AKA Truckee Team: "Live Art" by Kelly Quinn, Stephanie Dosik, Brittin Daley, live pianist Callie Ewing and the infamous Truckee DJ, "Nasty Nate."
Complementary wine and beer will be served.
According to Alex, "Life" has been created by "The Artist." Driven by infinite purpose, "The Artist" has highlighted soul growth for Alex. She is both exploiting and relishing in her artistic drive to continuously open her own mind to trust, listen to, create and perhaps, understand, the purpose of each "hART piece." Alex can't wait to find out who is interested and open-minded enough to come and experience this "Black, White and Raw" art ... in Truckee! For more details visit www.facebook.com/3113truckee.
Alex Kelly was born in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, in 1975. She and her parents, Bruce and Susan Turner, moved to Squaw Valley in 78. Meagan (Turner) Lauter (her sister) and Alex were then awesomely raised in Truckee, California (Go Wolverines!).
Alex attended Chico State, receiving a Bachelor's in Fine Art with an emphasis on painting and graphic art (1997). Since then, Alex has married Todd Kelly (U.S. Ski Team racer of Squaw Valley) and they now have three children. She has had various fine art shows since 2002 in San Francisco, Squaw Valley (including the sale of "September Eleventh," in less than three days, out of the James Harold Gallery in the Resort at Squaw Creek) and last, but certainly not least, Truckee. Alex's art blog, portfolio and "art for sale" (multi-media, water-based fine art and graphic art) may be viewed on her website artbyalex.com (post art show).
