Mountain biker still missing; DA receives report on Waverunner deaths

El Dorado County Sheriff's Department received no word about a 60-year-old Rio Vista mountain biker reported missing last week by family members.

Andy Sewell, a semi-retired computer Web designer, went mountain biking from Little Norway on Oct. 17, a day before a snow storm hit the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Sewell's van was found parked and covered with snow at Little Norway, which is a stone's throw from Echo Summit.

The sheriff's department called off their search Saturday but family members were expected to remain looking.

If anybody has information on the location of Sewell, contact the El Dorado Contact Sheriff's Department at (530) 573-3300.

In other news:

-- A report on a Waverunner accident that killed two Bay Area children was submitted to the El Dorado County district attorney's office for review.

Hans Uthe, assistant district attorney, said the office received the full report about a week ago on the accident that killed 15-year-old Ashley Wagoner and 6-year-old Jordan Cockrell off Ski Run Marina in July.

Uthe remained tight-lipped on the subject since the matter will be addressed in juvenile court.

The office has yet to file charges, if it decides to do so.

"We'll get them as quickly as we can," Uthe said. "It's fairly extensive."

A report was submitted earlier to the district attorney's office but Uthe said there were holes in that edition and sent it back to detectives.

Wagoner and Cockrell shared a rented waverunner when they lost control and collided with a teenage family member who sat on an idling waverunner.

Both were declared dead at the scene when pulled to the beach.
