No services are planned at this time for Michael Lee "Mike" McGinnis, who died March 2, 2005, at Carmichael, Calif. He was 46.
Mike was born May 8, 1958, in Las Vegas, Nev., and was a 22-year resident of South Lake Tahoe. He graduated in 1976 from West High School in Torrance, Calif., and worked at Lakeside Inn & Casino for 12 1/2 years as a slot mechanic. He owned McGinnis Productions, was producer of the Tahoe Variety Show, wrote articles for the Tahoe Mountain News, and was a member of the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed baseball, basketball and, most of all, tennis.
He is survived by his parents, Leon and Betty McGinnis of Torrance; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Fred Ciccarelli of Gardnerville, Nev.; sister, Janet McGinnis of Torrance; niece and husband, Stephanie and Jeremy Rutherdale of Gardnerville; nephew and wife, Tom and Leila Ciccarelli of Okinawa, Japan; nephew, Fred Ciccarelli Jr. of Reno, Nev.; great-nieces, Briana and Jordyn Rutherdale of Gardnerville; and great-nephew, James Schneider of Okinawa. He was predeceased by all his grandparents.
No services are planned at this time, but a celebration of life will take place at a time to be determined later.
