Britta Nauta won first prize in the June Tahoe Art League monthly contest for her digital image titled "Paris." Several impressions of Paris were combined into one effective image through skillful composition of traditional watercolor and digital enhancement.

Nauta grew up in Pleasanton and graduated in 2004 from Sacramento State with a bachelor's degree in graphic design. She always knew she would pursue an artistic career and after graduation she moved home to South Lake Tahoe to start her own art and design studio, Anchor Design. In just over a year her steadily growing list of clients is proof of her talent and determination.

Second prize went to Tricia McWhorter for her pastel portrait of her daughter titled "Aloha Kristina." She continues to pursue her study of pastel painting, while balancing a busy schedule as a real estate agent and mom. Her Web site is www.triciamcwhorter.

Teri Martinez won third prize for her black and white still-life "Homage to Henri Latour." This study exhibits her skill in producing many variations in value with charcoal. She is accomplished in several media, recently winning an honorable mention at the LTCC student show for her photograph "Incubating Pines."
