The owner of Divine Fragrances, a former boutique store in Village Center near Stateline, was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly selling counterfeit goods from handbags to perfume, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.
Leonardo Morales, 27, faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $2 million fine for allegedly trafficking in counterfeit goods.
The federal grand jury, which indicted Morales on Thursday, believes Morales sold handbags, sunglasses, watches, shoes, umbrellas, scarves, hats and jewelry with counterfeit trademarks on April 19 of this year.
The trademarks are among the elite in the merchandise world. They include Gucci, Cloe, Christian Dior, Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Armani, Cartier, Geneva, Tag Heuer, Tiffany, Movado and Bebe.
Divine Fragrances is no longer in business. Morales could not be reached for comment.
The case was investigated by the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, according to the attorney's office.
