Fitzhugh
Private family graveside services are planned for Pauline R. Fitzhugh, who passed away Feb. 14, 2007, at South Lake Tahoe. She was 80.
Pauline was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., to Stephen Acker and Ethyl Cosy Stanley. She married Melvin L. Fitzhugh in 1946 and they lived in Illinois for some years where they started a family. The moved to California in the mid-1950s. Pauline was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had four children, 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pauline had lived in South Lake Tahoe since 1975, and belonged to the First Baptist Church of South Lake Tahoe. She was a long-standing attendee of the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, where she made many friends and enjoyed a weekly bingo game. She also enjoyed long daily rides on the city bus, making friends with the wonderful drivers and friendly riders. She is greatly loved by all her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by daughters, Sandy Pacheco of Carson City, Nev., Kathy Portales of Brea, Calif., and Tammy Gochnauer of South Lake Tahoe; son, Melvin Fitzhugh jr. of La Mirada, Calif.; grandchildren, Ron, Mike, Rebecca, Timmy, Dena, Kari, Amy, Sydney, Eric, Grant, Brandon, Briana, Jennifer, Melissa; and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin, and grandchildren, Tony and Johnny.
Graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
