Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care will offer its 28th annual training seminar May 19 and 20 in South Lake Tahoe.
The nonprofit organization raises, releases and rehabilitates orphaned and injured "wild" birds and animals in and around the Lake Tahoe Basin and has been doing so since 1978. This is your opportunity to learn this unique talent and give something back to Mother Nature.
The fee for the two-day seminar is $60 for the first family member and $40 for each additional member. The first day will be taught by Cheryl Millham, executive director and founder of the organization. Millham has spoken at numerous International conferences and is well-known nationally in the wildlife rehab community for her work with beaver and mergansers.
Attending the training seminar is a prerequisite to work with LTWC and the wildlife they care for every year. The training will cover all the basics of wildlife rehabilitation including housing, feeding, diets, anatomy, first aid, transportation and restraint. Each year, LTWC cares for an average of 800 wild birds and animals. Be a part of this worthwhile organization.
