Print Comment
The eighth annual Northern California Green Party "Great Green Campout" is scheduled July 27, 28 and 29 at Dogwood Camp, Jenkinson Lake in the Sly Park Recreation Area near Pollock Pines. Hosts are the Green Party of El Dorado County and the Central Region.

Participants can sit, swim, walk and talk with the like-minded. There will be no meetings, seminars, workshop or speeches. And it's almost free. You may attend the entire three-day weekend or any portion thereof.

For details about the campout call (530) 620-6659. For information about Sly Park contact (530) 644-2545, (530) 644-2792 or slypark@eid.org.

Reservations are not required. Just arrive at the main gate and tell them you are with the Green Party at Dogwood Camp. Come in and make yourself at home. There's plenty of room for your individual camp/tent site. The main gate closes at midnight. The cost is $10 per car per day. Dogs are $2 each per day for any size dog. You may bring food and beverages, tents, personal recreation items, kids of any age, dogs on leash and acoustic instruments.

Green Party El Dorado County will accept a $10 donation per each adult staying overnight (one or two nights just 10 bucks). This donation covers the cost of the site rental. Any extra money can be donated back to the counties or region, expended on beer or used to help folks using a sliding scale.
