Cut fiber optics causes widespread outage, Tribune may be late on your doorstep and in racks

A cut fiber optics wire has caused widespread computer network outages today between South Lake Tahoe and Truckee.

The outage happened at around 2 p.m. and has affected networks around Lake Tahoe, especially on the California side, technicians working on the outage report.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune was affected by the glitch and newspapers may be late getting to doorsteps and in racks on Friday morning. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
