Update 2:10 p.m.: A sprinkler system activated inside the Tahoe Seasons Resort appears to have snuffed much of a room fire, according to witnesses at the scene of the South Lake Tahoe fire earlier today located at Saddle Road and Keller.
The fire has since been been extinguished and an investigation is underway by the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department.
No injuries were reported. The fire call came in to dispatch at around 11:30 a.m.
Earlier reports were that black smoke had been pouring from an eighth floor unit, flames were visible and the resort was evacuated.
A police scanner dispatch confirmed that sprinkler units activated during the fire.
