For one night only, Lake Tahoe will be treated to the fifth annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival.
Started by mountain climber and television host Todd Offenbacher, this film festival boasts a wide variety of all things extreme with a love for the outdoors.
The festival has turned into a showcase for young filmmakers who also participate in the sports being chronicled. And, like some of the extreme sports represented, the films are short and in real time, sometimes lasting only three minutes. Because of this, you find yourself catching your breath while the next film short begins.
One of the standouts include the short <b>"Eiger Speed Riding."</b> It's one thing to climb one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland, but to descend the mountain combining speed and flight into skiing is pretty dramatic, as captured here.
Another short that will have you wonder if your bicycle can do things off the beaten path is part of the Radical Films collection, <b>"Kranked 6,"</b> starring Ryan Leech. As part of the free-ride mountain bike world movement, Leech seems to create new adventures every time he and his bike find a new forest that calls to them. Some of the footage seen here has never been shown before, and to see this on the big screen is really amazing, almost as if you are right there with the athletes.

Other films on the program:
-- <b>"Kids Who Rip"</b> has been called the next generation of superstars. Traveling the country and receiving hours of submitted footage, "Kids Who Rip" has put together a video featuring great action, with fun and talented young athletes. (9 minutes) -- <b>"Points North Heli"</b> features owner Kevin Quinn with a few disabled skiers on the perfect day in Cordova, Alaska. It includes a tribute to ski legend Doug Coombs. (10 minutes)
-- <b>"Linescore"</b> is one for the locals. This short (10 minutes) features two Tahoe skiers as part of the North American Free Ride Tour that features some pretty amazing crash-landing scenes ending right here in Kirkwood.
-- <b>"Hello My Name is"</b> also features locals in this special editor's cut from First Tracks Productions. What is cool about this short is that you'll notice locations around Tahoe in addition to ones that were filmed abroad.
- Howie Nave is host/manager of The Improv comedy club inside Harveys and reviews films for seven radio stations throughout Northern California and Nevada, including Sirius Radio. He hosts "Howie's Morning Rush" on Tahoe's KRLT radio, and you can see his film reviews on RSN.

<b>Performance:</b> 6:30 p.m. An adventure photography show from Aurora Photos will fill the big screen as soon as the doors open. Photos from around the globe from the top photographers in the action and adventure sports world.
DJ Red Dawn and b-boy break-dancers will be on stage to get the crowd warmed up. The Red Hot Go-Go Dancers will heat the room from their dance pedestals and have the crowd sweating before the films even start.
<b>Main Event:</b> 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The top adventure sport films from around the world will present at the Best of the 2007 Tahoe Adventure Film Festival. This year's film selection includes skiing, BASE-jumping, deep water soloing, downhill mt. biking, rock climbing, kayaking, surfing and a few surprise sports.
<b>After party:</b> 10 p.m. Hosted by Todd Offenbacher, the After Party will directly following the 2007 Tahoe Adventure Film Festival main event, film attendees are invited to party with friends, athletes, and the film makers at Blu.
Festival attendees with their TAFF ticket stubs will be admitted to the party at no charge.
