Monday ski and board report for Sierra-at-Tahoe, Kirkwood and Heavenly

Sunny skies and crisp temperatures should make for some great skiing and boarding today. This report is as of 7:40 a.m. Monday.

<b>Heavenly Mountain Resort</b>

The recent storms brought several feet of snow to Heavenly Mountain Resort. Winds may affect lift operations. Call 800.Heavenly or check back at www.skiheavenly.com for updates. Heavenly asks skiers and boarders to please stay in the open areas where they've done avalanche control. Hiking and out-of-bounds skiing and boarding is prohibited. Lifts open at 9 a.m.

<b>Lifts:</b>10 lifts on California side, 10 lifts on Nevada side including Boulder and Stagecoach Express.

<b>Terrain Parks:</b> Powderbowl and Groove open

<b>Forecast:</b> Partly sunny with light to moderate winds and temperatures in the low 20s.

<b>New snow:</b> 28 to 48 inches in the past 48 hours

<b>Base depth (on trails w/ snowmaking):</b> 56 to 78 inches.

<b>Surface conditions:</b> Powder, Skier packed powder, machine-groomed powder

<b>Kirkwood Mountain Resort</b>

<b>New snow:</b> 100 to 132 inches out of three days of storms.

<b>Roads:</b> Highway 88 Carson Pass on Tahoe side open with four-wheel drive or chains. a.m.; Highway 88 East, Carson Spur, the Jackson side, open, four wheel drive or chains.

<b>Forecast:</b> Partly cloudy, clearing in the afternoon.

<b>Base depth:</b> 91 to 122 inches.

<b>High angle grooming:</b> Monte Wolfe, Zachary, Sentinel Bowl

<b>Open bowls:</b> Palisades, Sentinel, Wagon Wheel, Eagle, Sunrise

<b>Parks and Pipes:</b> Playground to open at noon.

Surface conditions: Powder, machine groomed packed powder, skier packed powder

<b>Cross Country:</b> Because of the recent storm, trails may be delayed in opening until grooming crews get to them.

<b>Sierra-at-Tahoe</b>

Today through Jan. 11, Sierra-at-Tahoe offers its Learn to Ski and Ride week deal. For $25 beginnner package includes lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental, 2.5 hours adult beginning lesson. The package normally costs $84. Packages must be purchased 24 hours in advance, online only at www.sierraattahoe.com
