Radon mitigation update meeting today at Kingsbury Middle School

Print Comment
Despite the inclement weather Douglas County School District trustees will meet at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon to evaluate the most recent radon test results and decided whether or not to continue mitigation.

Zephyr Cove Elementary School tested above the recommended levels of the
radioactive gas. According to Nov. 3 tests done by Fallon Heating and Air Conditioning, five rooms in the school were above the Environmental Protection Agency¹s recommended action level of 4 picocuries per liter of air.

A picocurie is a measure of radiation.

The meeting will be held at Kingsbury Middle School beginning at 3:30 p.m.

If the meeting should be cancelled because of the weather, the announcement will be on the Tribune Web site at www.tahoedailytribune.com.
