Push is on to spread word about snow depth at South Shore ski resorts



The New Year brought a series of storms delivering up to 11 feet at South Shore Lake Tahoe ski resorts Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kirkwood Mountain Resort and Sierra-at-Tahoe.

 

“This snowfall delivers a guaranteed ski base depth making way for a record breaking ski season,” said Patrick Kaler executive director of Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. “Ski conditions today and throughout the week will be fantastic with all the fresh snow, open roads and clear blue skies.”

<b>Learn to Ski/Ride the New Powder:</b> The Ski and Ride School offers special all-day powder clinics designed to unlock the secrets of finding and conquering the pow. <b>Kirkwood Mountain Resort:</b>

Powder skiing and riding can be intimidating to some people and that’s why Kirkwood and Burton Snowboards have partnered to create a first-of-its-kind powder progression program. <b>Sierra-at-Tahoe:</b>

This week through Jan. 11 learn to ski/ride packages are available at Sierra and participants will receive a limited-access lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental and a 2 ½ hour beginner lesson for only $25.
