Saturday's ski and board report for Sierra-at-Tahoe, Heavenly and Kirkwood



<b>Heavenly Mountain Resort</b>

Heavenly reports light snow this morning with superb conditions thanks to its grooming work overnight, according to the resort's Web site. The Groomer's Pick of The Day Liz and Orion. The Tubing Hill is now open at Adventure Peak. For your safety, hiking, skiing or boarding out of bounds is prohibited. Lifts open at 8:30 a.m.

<b>Lifts:</b> All lifts on the California and Nevada side are open.

<b>Terrain parks:</b> Powderbowl and Groove

<b>Adventure Peak:</b> Sledding, tubing, snowbikes

<b>Forecast:</b> Mostly cloudy, temps in the low 30’s with light to moderate winds and snow.

<b>New snow:</b> 1 inch.

<b>Base depth (on trails w/ snowmaking):</b> 58-80 inches.

<b>Surface conditions:</b> Packed powder, skier packed powder, machine-groomed snow.

<b>Kirkwood Mountain Resort</b>

Live Music with Brother Dan in the Wall Bar from 1 p.m to 5 p.m. The Chair 7 boarder/skier cross course is now open in addition to our Playground and Stomping Ground Terrain Parks.



<b>Lifts:</b> All 10 lifts open, 65 trails open, 28 trails groomed.

<b>Terrain Parks:</b> Stomping Grounds, The Playground.

<b>Open Bowls:</b> Palisades, Sentinel, Wagon Wheel, Eagle, Sunrise

<b>Kirkwood Cross Country:</b> More than 70 kilometers of groomed track, skating lane and snow shoe trails. Ecstasy trails now open, which connect the lower trail system with the upper trails at Schneider Cow Camp. Join Kirkwood for Winter Trails Day today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free snowshoe demos and seminars on winter travel and snow safety. <b>Forecast:</b> Mostly cloudy with highs in the 30s

<b>New snow:</b> Trace.

<b>Roads:</b> Highway 88 West Carson Pass Tahoe side, open;. Highway 88 East Carson Spur Jackson side open.

<b>Base depth</b>: 100-130 inches.

<b>Surface conditions:</b> Machine groomed, skier packed, hard pack.

<b>Sierra-at-Tahoe</b>

<b>Lifts:</b> 12 lifts running, 42 trails open. The Alley is open.

<b>Events:</b> Two USASA Slaloms will take place on Saturday. Open to amateur snowboarders of all ages. All competitors under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the liabilty wavier. Register between 8 a.m. To 9:45 a.m. in the Aspen Cafe on the day of event. <b>Forecast:</b> Partly cloudy with high near 40. Slight chance of precipitation. Snow.

<b>New snow:</b> None.

<b>Base depth:</b> 52-89 inches.

<b>Surface conditions:</b> Machine groomed, packed powder.
