Wednesday ski and board report for Sierra-at-Tahoe, Heavenly and Kirkwood

<b>HEAVENLY MOUNTAIN RESORT</b>

Heavenly plans to operate 29 lifts with skiing and riding on 4,800 acres today, according to its Web site. The groomers pick of the day is Orion’s on the Nevada side and everything else on the California side. Lifts open at 9 a.m.

<b>Lifts:</b> All lifts to run, 4 terrain parks open; sledding, tubing and snow bikes available at Adventure Peak.

<b>Forecast:</b> Occassional snow with light to moderate winds and temperatures in the mid 20s.

<b>New snow:</b> 5 to 7 inches.

<b>Base depth (on trails w/ snowmaking):</b> 58-80 inches.

<b>Surface conditions:</b> Powder, packed powder, skier-packed powder, machine-groomed powder

<b>KIRKWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT</b>

<b>Lifts:</b> 10 lifts open, 65 trails open, 39 trails groomed.

<b>Forecast:</b> Mostly cloudy, snowshowers.

<b>Roads:</b> Highway 88 Carson Pass (Tahoe side) is open: Chains or four-wheel drive w/ snow tires; Highway 88 East/Carson Spur (Jackson side)is open: Chains or four-wheel drive w/ snow tires

<b>New snow:</b> 4 to 6 inches

<b>Park and Pipe:</b> Stomping Grounds, the Playground, Adventure Land, Skier/Boarder X Course is being rebuilt, Halfpipe

<b>Base depth (on trails w/ snowmaking):</b> 86-115.

<b>Kirwood Cross Country:</b> More than 80 kilometers of groomed track, skating lane and snow shoe trails available. Snowshoe Shuffle, a guided snowshoe hike will be on Jan. 27. Agony/Ecstasy trails now open which connects the lower trail system with the upper trails at Schneider Cow Camp. For information on Snowshoe Shuffle call (209) 258-7248.
