Chains and snowtires required throughout the Sierra

Here are the latest road controls as of 7 a.m.:

<b>Highway 50:</b> Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 51 miles between 4 miles east of Placerville, over Echo Summit, all the way to Meyers. Chains required from South Lake Tahoe and Stateline to Carson City over Spooner Summit.

<b>Interstate 80:</b> Road closed for 80 miles between Applegate California Exit 128 and 1 mile west of Garson Road Exit 4. Snowtires or chains required for 20 miles between 1 mile west of Garson Road Exit 4 and 1 mile east of Mustang Exit 23.

<b>Highway 395:</b> Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles from through Washoe Valley, to Carson City to Carson Valley to Bridgeport.

<b>State Route 28:</b> Chains or snows required for 16 miles between Highway 50 and California state line. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 11 miles between California state line and Tahoe City.

<b>State Route 88:</b> Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 32 miles between 4 miles west of Dew Drop, Calif., and 2 miles east of Silver Lake, Calif. Road closed due to avalanche control for 3 miles between 2 miles east of Silver Lake California and Kirkwood. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 2 miles

between Kirkwood and 2 miles east of Kirkwood. Road closed due to avalanche control for 12 miles between 2 miles east of Kirkwood and State Route 89 at Picketts Junction. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 9 miles between State Route 89 at Picketts Junction and 4 miles east of Woodfords. Snowtires or chains required for 8 miles between California state line and Highway 395.

<b>State Route 89:</b> Road closed due to avalanche control for 8 miles between 3 miles north of Highway 50 and Bliss State Park. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 7 miles between Bliss State Park and Tahoma. Snowtires or chains required for 22 miles between Tahoma and Interstate 80 at Truckee. Chains or snows required for 9 miles between 5 miles north of Truckee and 14 miles north of Truckee. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 2 miles between 14 miles north of Truckee and Sierraville, Calif. Snowtires or chains required for 4 miles between Sierraville and Sattley. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 11 miles between Sattley and Calpine.

<b>State Route 207 Kingsbury Grade:</b> Chains or snows required from Stateline at Lake Tahoe, over Kingsbury Grade, all the way to the Carson Valley to junctions of Highway 395 and State Route 206.



<b>State Route 431:</b> Chains or snows required for 25 miles between State Route 28 and Highway 395.



<b>State Route 267:</b> Chains or snows required for 6 miles between junction of Interstate 80 at Truckee and Northstar. Chains required except for four wheel drive vehicles for 7 miles between Northstar and junction State Route 28 at Kings Beach.
