Print Comment
A man was shot in the face Friday night and authorities here and in the Carson Valley are searching for a suspect who is now believed to be in the Carson City area.

The shooting took place following a fight that happened inside a casino parking garage, authorities said today. The victim's injuries were not life threatening.

At least one gunshot was fired and pellets struck a man in the neck and cheek area, according to South Lake Tahoe Police and Douglas County Sheriff's officers who were on the scene.

The victim of the shooting has not been cooperative in the investigation, said Douglas County Sheriff's Capt. Keith Logan. The suspected shooter left the scene in a vehicle.

Investigators are now looking at video camera footage of the parking garage, Logan said. The victim has now told authorities that he doesn't know where the shooting took place.

The investigation also includes the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

The incident was reported at 9:38 p.m. Friday.

More information regarding the case will be available on Monday, Logan said.
