Patrick Kaler, executive director of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, has resigned after 3 1/2 years with the organization, board chairman Pat Ronan announced Friday.

The resignation is effective March 31. Kaler is leaving to pursue other interests, according to a news statement.

"We wish Patrick success in his future endeavors," Ronan said. "We will operate business as usual and look forward to the upcoming summer season."

Sue Barton, who has been with the LTVA for seven years, will oversee the LTVA as the deputy director. During the transition, all events and activities on behalf of the LTVA are confirmed as scheduled.
