Provided to the Tribune March 26, 2008 PrintEmail Inspired by a presentation on polio prevention and immunization at the 2007 Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, South Tahoe High School senior Brittney Cummings recently shared her remarkable experiences on her two-week trip and National Immunization Day participation in Nigeria with the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe.
Brittney presented her remarkable story and photos of her 2007 trip to Africa with the club, describing her efforts in raising $4,000 for the trip, securing outgoing Rotary International travel information and locating an outgoing Rotary female mentor to accompany her on this incredible trip.
Drawing a standing ovation from the club's membership, Cummings thanked the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe for its $1,000 sponsorship toward her trip.
