Watershed film series continues at LTCC
The Upper Truckee River Watershed Stewardship Group is hosting the second installment of its watershed film series tonight.

From 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College’s Aspen Room, the film “A River Reborn: The Restoration of Fossil Creek” will be shown.

“A River Reborn” chronicles the efforts of a group of scientists, conservationists and community members to decommission a hydroelectric dam in Arizona.

The removal of the dam results in the return of an altered and impaired ecosystem to a beautifully restored and naturally functioning state. The film highlights the impact of the dam and its removal on the fish, wildlife and vegetation in the watershed.

The Upper Truckee River Watershed Stewardship Group is a community-based forum for environmental education and discussion of watershed issues.

This event is free and open to the public.

For more information on the Watershed Film Series or the watershed group, call (530) 541-5388.

Citizens Alliance meeting is tonight
The Citizens Alliance for Responsible Government will meet at 6 p.m. today in the boardroom at Barton Memorial Hospital.

Topics will include a report on city activities from South Lake Tahoe City Councilman Bill Crawford and an ongoing discussion on redevelopment.
