Watershed forum set tonight

Print Comment
The Upper Truckee River Watershed Stewardship Group will host a public forum tonight.

The forum will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College. The open house will present comprehensive information on the state of the watershed.

Agency representatives for projects in the Upper Truckee Marsh, Lake Tahoe Airport, Sunset Stables and Lake Tahoe Golf Course will provide information and answer questions. The U.S. Forest Service also will provide information on the status of the Angora burn zone.

In addition, the forum will highlight citizen water-quality monitoring programs in the South Lake Tahoe area and ways that community members can help the environment by sampling local waterways.

The forum is open to the public. For more information, contact Sarah Curtis at (530) 541-5388.
