Music will highlight the South Lake Tahoe Earth Day festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Saturday, April 19, for the second year at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa. Ride your bike to the event, and for a complete schedule of events, see the weekend edition of the Tahoe Daily Tribune. Heres a roundup of the music:
<b>10-11 a.m. Moonshine String Posse</b>
A Mammoth-based bluegrass band, Moonshine String Posse features bass player and lead singer Meghan Herring. The four-piece also includes fiddle, guitar and banjo.

<b>11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Ten Cent Lure</b>
The funkin swanky-tonkers from South Lake Tahoe are taking a break from their day jobs and are touring in an RV this spring. They opened for the Jerry Miller Band twice last week and will be rocking the May 29 Tahoe Aqua Boogie II aboard the M.S. Dixie II. They are taking their music so seriously, theyve elected to gig rather than attend the April 25 Black Crowes concert. Ten Cent Lure formed during Thanksgiving 2006 and released a debut album, Trollin, early this year. Fuzzy John Oxendine, who also plays with Miller and was in his Moby Grape in the early 1970s, is the drummer. Beware: Chad Olesons hybrid bass allows him to hit the brown note.

<b>1-2:15 p.m. Absynth</b>
The SLT laptop rockers have just returned from a Southern California tour. Absynth will be playing its third straight Earth Day concert at South Shore. Keyboardist Jim Cooke, a dedicated environmental advocate, gets solid support from Dustin Johnson (guitar) and Adam Northway (drums). This electronica version of a jam band should offer an appropriate segue to the headliners.

<b>3-4:30 p.m. Jamie Janover and LYNX</b>
Anyone who has been to the High Sierra Music Festival over the past several years will know Janover: Hes the guy who rides around on the percussion-equipped tricycle he calls a Realmsmobile. Janover also plays with Michael Travers of the String Cheese Incident in a band called Zilla. The 2002 national hammered dulcimer champion will play a 30-minute set, before a 30-minute set by Colorado artist LYNX, who plays acoustic guitar with a looping device call it folk-tronica. Janover and LYNX will perform together for a final set. The second stage will be closed when Janover hits the main stage at 3 p.m.
