Provided to the Tribune
Boy Scout Troops 468 and 594 conducted a Court of Honor on April 21 at Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church. During the event, many merit badges and rank advancements that had been earned by the Scouts were awarded.

A very special award, the National Scoutmaster Award of Merit, was presented to Bill Kolstad, who had led both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for many years. He has mentored the boys, helping them to advance in the ranks all the way to Eagle Scout.

The award was presented by Phil Ward, Troop 468 committee chair, and the Scouts of Troops 468 and 594. The Scouts felt Kolstad was quite deserving of the award and it was long overdue. It is dedication such as his that keeps the troops active and a valuable part of the community.
