Benefit comedy show scheduled

A benefit comedy show for comedian Max Alexander, who is on dialysis and awaiting a kidney transplant, is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, in Harrah's South Shore Room.

The show, "Maxed Out Laughter," will feature comics Rocky LaPorte, Mark Pitta, Scott Henry, Kat Simmons, and James P. Connelly, and will be hosted by Howie Nave.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in advance by calling Harrah's at (800) 786-8208 or the day of the show.

Max Alexander is a nationally known stand-up comic with motion picture appearances in "Punchline" with Tom Hanks, "Roxanne" with Steve Martin, and - of particular interest to local residents - in Jim Carrey's "Man on the Moon," which was filmed at Harrah's Lake Tahoe.
