Legends of roots reggae meet — all over again

Print Comment
Saturday’s main musical act on the Hawaiian Tropic Stage does more than mark the opening of summer at Lake Tahoe: It takes listeners back in time to when Tosh met Marley.

Tosh Meets Marley, which will play from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, July 21, on the stage along Highway 50 in Stateline, merges original members of Bob Marley’s Wailers with Peter Tosh’s band.

Bandleader Fully Fullwood was a member of Tosh’s band Word Sound and Power, and a leader of the Soul Syndicate Band. Fullwood joins rhythm guitarist Tony Chin, keyboard player Jawge Hughes, Georges Kouakou, lead guitarist Vince Black, Brazilian percussionist Claudio “Peppe,” drummer Karl Wright and singer Junior Marvin in the band. All the members of Tosh Meets Marley have played with other reggae legends, and many are successful solo performers.
