Wednesday's forecast: More wind today, temperatures to remain steady and warm

Print Comment
It looks like more of the same today as far as the weather goes with sunshine along with more haze and smoke from the fires outside of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Winds will pick up today which will most likely carry more smoke into the basin from the west slope fires.

Under sunny skies, high temperatures will warm once again into the upper 70s to mid 80s for most with upper 80s around Woodfords and Markleeville and near 70 at the higher elevations above 8000 feet.

Winds will pick up today from the west by afternoon and blow in the 10 to 20 mph range with gusts to perhaps 30 mph.  The winds will decrease after sunset allowing for the haze and smoke to settle into the basin once again as lows drop into the 40s except for lower 50s in the warmer north and east shore locations along with those up on Kingsbury Grade.

There is no precipitation expected any time soon although a few thunderstorms may begin to reappear over Mono County to our south by the weekend and may eventually spread north.  We will keep you informed on that.  Have a great day!
