Blaise Carrig appointed to Nevada tourism board

Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons appointed five members to the Nevada Commission on Tourism, including Blaise Carrig.

Carrig is senior vice president and chief operating officer at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe. He also is a Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority board member and on the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki said the new appointees are experienced leaders in the tourism industry. Krolicki chairs the commission and said all additions bring variety to the attractions Nevada offers, such as Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas and the Ruby Mountains.

Others appointed include Eric Bello, vice president of sales at the Las Vegas Sands Corporation in Las Vegas; Cindy L. Carano, executive director of Hotel Operations at the Eldorado Hotel Casino in Reno; Bruce Dewing, president and general manager of AWI Gaming Ð Sturgeons Inn &amp; Casino in Lovelock; and Ryan Sheltra, general manager of the Bonanza Casino in Reno.
