Thursday's weather: Warm with above average temperatures today

The weather forecast remains unchanged for the next few days with abundant sunshine and warm temperatures for the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Highs today will once again warm into the upper 70s right near the shoreline of the lake with 80s for almost everyone else and near 70 above 8,000 feet.

Light lake breezes around the lake in the morning hours will give way to the usual west to southwest afternoon winds in the 10 to 20 mph range in all areas.

Winds will decrease after sunset with lows tonight dropping down into the 40s with some lower 50s along the warmer north and east shore locations and up on Kingsbury Grade.

The weather looks remain largely settled and warm at least through Saturday although there may be a return to afternoon showers and thunderstorms to our south over Mono county begining on Saturday and possibly spreading to our area by Sunday.

This will depend on where a weak upper low develops to our west this weekend.  More on this in tomorrow's forecast.
