The South Lake Tahoe Senior Center Young at Heart Players will present "Hee Haw" at 2 p.m. Aug. 2 in the Lake Tahoe Community College Duke Theater.
"We certainly hope to wow and entertain you with songs to bring back memories from the past," said Ethel Aubrey, show director. "We have a great cast this year, many of whom have been in previous shows."
The family evening will include refreshments during intermission and a raffle with prizes donated by local merchants.
Admission is $8 per person, and tickets are available for purchase at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., and from cast members. Proceeds will go toward the Christmas party for seniors.
Bonnie and Phil Steinberg bring humor, fun and creativity to the stage with their skits and songs; Bob Witting, The Arizona Cowboy, will sing some of his original songs; cowboy poet and artist Vern Lee will tell tales of the work and struggles of life out on the range; and Francine Garcia will bring the glamour of Dolly Parton.
Ann Kirk will sing the likes of Patsy Cline; Bill Paradise, the smooth crooner, will do some of the more mellow tunes; Jimmy Crawford, a newcomer to the group, is an old cowhand; and Mary Stephens will do a favorite of Tammy Wynette.
No "Hee Haw" show would be complete without Minnie Pearl and Grandpa Jones, portrayed by Ethel Aubrey and Bob Witting. And the players could not get along without piano player Marjorie Sand and fiddle player Steve Sand, who both have been in many of the Young at Heart Players shows. There also will be dancing girls and line dancing.
The show is directed by Ethel Aubrey and co-directed by Francine Garcia.
