City Council set to discuss vacation rentals, ballfields

Print Comment
The South Lake Tahoe City Council will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at the Lake Tahoe Airport. Topics on the agenda include:

— Several items related to regulation of vacation-home rentals, including
whether the city should hire a community service officer to handle
complaints about rentals. Vacation-rental permit fees would be raised to pay
for the new officer.

— An update from the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce on the
Wayfinding project, which would bring a unified system of signs to the South
Shore to help people find their way around.

— Whether ballfields called for under Measure S, approved by voters in
2000, should be at the Little League Park rather than Lake Tahoe Community
College as specified in the measure. The change would need to be approved by
voters.
