A visit to South Lake Tahoe may not improve your bowling score, but it will increase your chances of winning a free car.

Professional bowler Garret Rhett was awarded a 2008 Pontiac Solstice, valued at $26,000 by MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa.

“I’m having the time of my life here at MontBleu,” said Rhett, after winning the car by playing the property’s slot machines.

In his most recent 2008 PBA Tournament in June, Rhett won 1,528 points—in the world of slot play, that would equal $1,528 — 5.8 percent of his new car’s value.

The roadster, given away last Saturday to Rhett, was the second in a series of three, in MontBleu’s Summer Solstice Give Away.

Not the usual Summer Solstice, this promotion runs well into September with the final grand prize drawing taking place Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.

The resort makes it easy to win Pontiac’s attractive new convertible roadster. By using a Cobalt Players Card (a free membership gaming club with resort-wide discounts), players earn points that are converted into entries for the grand prize drawings. $1 in slot play = 1 point; 100 points = 1 entry. Players earn double entries every Saturday throughout the promotion.

“What better way to get home from MontBleu than in a free car,” says Mike Jones, director of casino operations. “South Tahoe is famous for outdoor fun, so we figured we’d better raise the bar on indoor fun.” The first Pontiac Solstice was won by Billy McCoy of Sacramento, Calif.

Gamers can chose from hundreds of new slot machines to on MontBleu’s 40,000 square foot newly remodeled casino floor, like Mega Bucks, Wheel of Fortune and eBay.
