Weekend forecast: Mostly sunny with above normal daytime temperatures

Print Comment
A broad upper level ridge of high pressure will persist over the southwest U.S. this weekend resulting in warm daytime temperatures in the Tahoe area.

Highs today and the rest of the weekend are forecast to reach the lower to mid 80s or about 8 to 10 degrees above the seasonal normal for this time of year.

Overnight lows are expected to drop into the upper 30s to mid 40s around the lake with light winds. Daytime heating will trigger some afternoon cumulus clouds along the Sierra but any thunderstorm activity should remain isolated to the south in Mono county and east into central Nevada this weekend.

Boaters can look for generally light winds kicking up from the southwest around 10 to 15 mph in the mid to late afternoons. Longer range forecast charts are showing a little cooler temperatures and breezy afternoons early next week as another trough of low pressure pushes into the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy the great weather this weekend.
