This little fellow is hoping to find a home during the county animal shelter's adopt-a-thon Saturday at the Animal Coalition of Tahoe.
Dogs and cats, a love bird, two guinea pigs and a helmet-crested pigeon are looking for homes, and the El Dorado County Animal Shelter is holding an adopt-a-thon from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The event at the Animal Coalition of Tahoe, at 1120 Shakori Drive in Meyers, will also offer an incentive to adopt a black cat: "Unfortunately it is more difficult to adopt a black cat," said volunteer Karen Kuentz. "And we have a lot of them."

For more information or to view pictures of adoptable animals, call (530) 573-7925 or go to www.edcgov.us/animalservices.
