Marine corporal headed to Iraq

Marine Corps Cpl. Dennis Merritt will deploy to Iraq on Sept. 15.

A 2005 South Tahoe High School graduate, Merritt is married to Amanda Merritt (Justice), who is expecting their first child at the end of the month.

His mother is Barbara McKusick and his stepfather is Ron McKusick, both of South Lake Tahoe, and his brother is Charlie Klein of Arcata.
