The sixth annual Tour de Tahoe: Bike Big Blue bicycle event is Sunday, when more than 1,800 cyclists from across the world will participate in one of two events focused on the enjoying the scenery around Lake Tahoe.
The first option is for recreational bicyclists and is highlighted by a boat cruise and 35-mile half ride from the North Shore to Horizon in Stateline. The cost is $135.
The second option is for more season bicyclists and will take riders around the 72-mile shoreline of Lake Tahoe. It involves 2,600 feet of elevation gained/lost. Cost is $110.
Neither event is structured as a race, and pre-registration and rider check-in will take place on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. at Tahoe Sports Ltd. in the Crescent Village Shopping Center. Late registration is also available on Saturday from at 5:30 a.m. in Horizon's "C" parking lot on the back of the property.
